Wondering about our FREE initial meeting?  Here's all you need to know:

All about our Initial Meeting

The initial meeting is a one-on-one meeting between you and Fairuz Azli.

It is personal, confidential, and focused entirely on your situation, whether you’re an employee, contractor, or practice owner.

Fairuz  has a friendly, approachable manner and a deep respect for mental health professionals and the positive difference you make in the world.

Fairuz is a qualified accountant (CPA & CA) and a business mentor.  He's a business owner and director and he's an author. He’s spoken with thousands of psychologists about their finances and their businesses giving him unparalleled knowledge of the psychology industry.

Fairuz realised very early on that there was a real lack of business and finance information available for psychologists.

Who will I meet with?

You don't learn business or finance skills doing a Masters of Psychology.

"I am clueless when it comes to accounting and managing tax requirements and would appreciate some ongoing guidance from a knowledgeable accountant." Serafina, Clinical Psychologist

But it seems like some people in accounting and finance don't fully grasp the complexities of working as a psychologist.

I have an accountant currently but find I am not getting the support I need - Lucy, Registered Psychologist

Fariuz's passion is for helping psychologists with the business side, to take away the overwhelm and explain things without jargon, so you can feel confident about your finances and your business, and focus on treating mental health.

Fairuz is delighted he's been able to help so many psychologists with tax, business and personal finances, so they can pursue and fulfill their goals.

Fairuz also wrote SORTED for Contractor Psychologists which covers the tax and finances aspects of being a Contractor Psychologist when he realised the lack of information and support available for Contractor Psychologists.

The meeting runs for around 90 minutes. That may sound long, but it allows enough time to properly listen to your needs, answer your questions, and explore your options.

We believe in providing real value rather than rushing through.

How long does the meeting take?

We cover both your professional and personal financial picture, so you leave with a clear understanding of where you stand.

Topics may include your work structure, tax obligations, GST, income sources, bank accounts, forecasting, bookkeeping systems, insurance, and practice operations.

We also discuss personal finances such as budgeting, savings, investments, debt, retirement planning, and financial goals.

Please note the free meeting is a discussion only.  We won’t be completing your tax return or BAS during the meeting.

What will we talk about in the meeting?

We're experienced with helping psychologists who juggle different jobs and contracts, which can complicate tax returns.

What if I have multiple jobs or contracts?

I am a psychologist. I have had 3 salary roles and have been sub contracting for 4 therapy platforms in the last financial year. I have zero idea on how to do my tax - Kerry, Registered Psychologist

We’ll help organise your income and deductions correctly to make sure you don’t miss out.

After your meeting, you’ll receive a detailed written summary of what we discussed including a short action list highlighting your most important priorities.

We’ll also include resources we’ve developed specifically for psychologists that best fit your situation. You’ll also receive a transparent list of our services and costs and a new client form.

If, after your meeting, you decide you’d like to work with us, just fill in the new client form and email it to us.

What happens after the meeting?

The purpose of the meeting is to give you clarity and direction, not to pressure you into becoming a client. While more than 85% of people who meet with us choose to work with us afterwards, there is no obligation.

When you fill in the booking form, tell us a little about yourself.  Let us know if you’re an employee, a contractor, a solo practice owner or a practice owner and if there are any particular things you would like to discuss.

Make sure you have a quiet space for the meeting and that the audio on your computer is working.

Don’t worry, you don’t need to download anything for the meeting. Just click on the link we’ll send you. Remember, it’s an initial discussion and we won’t be completing your tax return or bas during this meeting.

We'll send you a reminder a few days before your meeting.  If, for some reason, you can't attend, please let us know so we can offer the spot to another psychologist.
